About the Author, CJ McKay
McKay was born in Wichita, Kansas and moved to Vinita, Oklahoma at the age of 4 in 2005. She grew up an only child with a mother who frequently worked away from home and a step-father who stayed to himself. She spent a lot of time playing alone and developed a very active imagination. Her mom's drilling her on spelling words helped her to win her class spelling bee. Then in the 5th grade, her writing talent became evident when she won Best Over All for her essay, What I'm Thankful For, at Cowboy Junction School.
McKay's mother bought her many books to help her develop a love for reading, but it truly started growing when she was in the 3rd grade, and they came across the Rainbow Fairies series. She once did a school project on her favorite author, who at the time was Ellen Miles, the author of The Puppy Place series.

As McKay grew, you could find her hidden and getting lost in books such as: Boxcar Children, The Chronicles of Narnia, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Heroes of Olympus, and The Bible.
Her favorite Authors include: C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, J.K. Rowling, Ted Dekker, Frank E. Peretti, Rick Riordan, and Francine Rivers.
The current series that McKay is working on, The Elementalists: The Seven Elements, was a story swimming around in her head until she started putting it on paper her junior year of high school. The words came easier after an evangelist prayed for her at a conference in the summer of 2018, and she knows she received supernatural inspiration. Ever since then she has been adding elements from her life into the story, and her devotion to God has guided her.
Ms. McKay loves to laugh and spend time with her loved ones. She also enjoys playing around with her camera, but she spends most of her time writing. She hopes you enjoy her stories as much as she has enjoyed creating them. Thank you for stopping by her website.
